Right Tools, Right Now.

Proud To Be Helping Members RIGHT NOW, Posted By Jim

As a Member of NAR’s Leadership Team and as NAR’s Treasurer, I am proud to be involved in a new initiative that will start in March that renewed my faith in our association’s heart and soul. It will show our membership, our local and state associations, and our institutes, societies, and councils that no one understands better than NAR what all of us are going through right now.

I’ll let President Charles McMillan explain the details of the “Right Tools, Right Now,” initiative over the coming weeks. In the meantime, this blog is more from my heart than from the financials, which I am charged with overseeing.

I’ve been a Realtor® for nearly 35 years. More times than I can count, members of our association have raised questions of NAR’s purpose, intent, and care for its members. This new initiative, which can be found at www.realtor.org/righttools and will be available the first week in March, gives our members more services, education, information, and tools than any one person can imagine. While some of our industry’s ancillary organizations are literally struggling to survive, our association has found a way to help our members when we all need it more than ever. We are strong in every way — financially, intellectually, and deep within the soul of the NAR. We can all thank CEO Dale Stinton and the rest of the staff for this amazing effort.

The truth is that my time last week (when I was supposed to be writing this blog) was spent looking over tools my association will be providing to help make my brokerage office more profitable. I urge you to be curious and to seek out the “Right Tools, Right Now” initiative. You won’t only find it helpful to you and your clients – you’ll know why all of us should be proud to be a part of the Realtor® family. – Jim Helsel, 2009 NAR Treasurer.
